How To Move Pain Out Of Your Feet With The Power Plate

There are at least 20+ distinct "spaces" (joint cavities) between bones—each filled with fluid, connective tissue, and membranes that Power Plate vibration can move in and out to assist with fluid flow and decrease tightness.

Dr Tommy Rhee works with professional athletes, former pro athletes as well as people who become active in their everyday life.  We all get injured, especially in our feet.

In this video Dr Rhee explains how the bones in the feet work, develop pain and how to move that pain out of your feet.

How Power Plate Relieves Foot Pain

High-frequency 3D vibrations (~40 Hz) from the Power Plate gently and rapidly change pressure within your foot, helping to loosen tight fascia and calf muscles that pull on the heel and foot structures .

These vibrations also push fluid out of interstitial spaces between small bones (tarsals, metatarsals) and fascia layers, aiding in lymphatic drainage and reducing inflammation and swelling .

As muscle and tissue tension decreases, the pressure that builds up in the tight compartments—common in conditions like plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia—is released. This relief helps restore proper foot function and reduce pain .

How many spaces are there between the bones in your foot?

Your foot has 26 bones organized into multiple segments:

7 tarsal bones (hind- and mid-foot)

5 metatarsals (the long bones connecting to the toes)

14 phalanges (toe bones)

These form numerous joints—each representing a space between bones:

Tarsometatarsal (midfoot) joints: typically 5

Intertarsal joints: multiple (e.g. subtalar, talonavicular, calcaneocuboid)

Metatarsophalangeal joints: 5 (one at each toe base)

Interphalangeal joints in toes: 9 (2 in big toe, 3 each in other toes)

That’s at least 20+ distinct "spaces" (joint cavities) between bones—each filled with fluid, connective tissue, and membranes that Power Plate vibration can move in and out to assist with fluid flow and decrease tightness.

Summary

The Power Plate uses rapid 3D vibrations (~40 Hz) to loosen tight fascia and calf muscles.

This helps redistribute tissue fluid from the small inter-bone spaces, reducing pressure and inflammation.

With 26 foot bones and over 20 joints, there are numerous fluid-filled spaces that benefit from this enhanced circulation and decompression.
