Whole-body vibration and the prevention and treatment of delayed-onset muscle soreness
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of a Power Plate® machine intervention on muscle soreness. 32 untrained university students participated in this study. Performing a half squat for 60 seconds on the Power Plate machine, before eccentric exercises resulted in less maximal isometric and isokinetic voluntary strength loss, lower creatine kinase levels, higher pain pressure threshold and less muscle soreness. Conclusion:
The Power Plate machine intervention had an alleviative effect on the responses to muscle soreness.
